In 1981, the cousins Willi Glaeser and Otto Glaeser merged their initials together in Baden-Dättwil, Switzerland to form the today internationally known furniture brand: they planned the founding of wogg. Willi Glaeser was already active as a third-generation master cabinetmaker and managing owner, and expanded the interior finishing business area, even internationally. Otto Glaeser was head of development at the then leading leather upholstery manufacturer de Sede.
wogg appeared for the first time on the Swiss market in 1983 with an assortment of 7 products.

    The initial impulse was the vision of developing an independent furniture collection and industrially manufacturing and selling it under a new brand name. The "postforming technique" was developed after 1972 in the Schreinerei Glaeser AG under the direction of Willi Glaeser. In the initial phase of wogg it served as the basis for product development. We manufacture our products, except for a few exceptions, here in Switzerland.

    Already one year following the founding, the furniture ideas of wogg were internationally recognized and sold in 1984. wogg has since been represented at many trade fairs in Milan (I), Cologne (D) and Kortrijk (B), as well as at countless exhibitions. wogg products are now available in 14 countries, and the portfolio is being continuously expanded. Our products are principally sold through premium specialty traders.

    A total of 46 products have been developed at wogg since 1983 in cooperation with well-known designers. It is often a long way from the idea to series production. Over 25 years of experience give us the courage to take on new challenges and to constantly expand our expertise. Motivated by pleasure and curiosity, we develop innovative products. Novel processing techniques, new materials and sophisticated functionality lead to new and innovative solutions. wogg thereby always searches for the balance between purism and sensuality. The reduction to the essential stands in the foreground, so that people and space can occupy their proper place.

    In the meantime 14 wogg products have been awarded various design prizes and awards. The good design of wogg is internationally recognized. Many of the furniture items from the wogg collection are already considered classics today.
Also exceptional is the versatile application of our collection. Most of the furniture can be used in living, office and representative areas.

    Mark Werder is the new CEO of wogg since July 2007. He collected his experiences in buisinesses like architecture, interieur decoration and sales. The last 3 years he was responsible for the sale distribution in Switzerland for the company Fritz Hansen.
